Well, I have completed the first mini-tour of The Cleverest Thief. I have enjoyed it enormously,  and I have to say, audiences have been very positive indeed.

‘Touching and moving’.

‘Very poignant’.

‘A wonderful show that humorously expressed the journey into dementia with compassion and humanity.’

Newer dates are posted above.

The show now has its own website http://thecleverestthief.co.uk/ I hope to see you at one of the performances.

The Cleverest Thief

“Alzheimer’s is the cleverest thief, because she not only steals from you, but she steals the very thing you need, to remember what’s been stolen.”  Jarod Kintz

My solo show about a woman’s journey into dementia was very well received on its first outing, at the scratch night at Barnsley Civic. I will post further dates and venues on here as soon as I have them.

Solo Show and more Meisner training

Well, 2014 was the year of the Meisner training with the Impulse Theatre Company in London.

And now 2015 is the year of the ongoing Meisner training in Leeds, with West Yorkshire Theatre network and Moment2Moment Acting.

In addition, on 5th March, I shall be performing an extract from my solo show at Barnsley Civic Theatre scratch night. The solo show is called The Cleverest Thief, and is the story of a woman’s journey into dementia and the effect on her family. It will be the first try-out for  the show, and I would be delighted to see you there.

MEISNER TRAINING

2014 has been the year of Meisner training with The Impulse Theatre Company in London and Moment to Moment Acting in Leeds.

In January I commenced a three term training with Scott Williams at The Impulse Theatre Company in London. I am working with a great bunch of actors, from a wide variety of nationalities, and I have one more term to do  (October to December).

I have also done two workshops in the Meisner technique with Keith Farquar of Moment to Moment Acting in Leeds, and hope to do further workshops over the next 12 months. Once again the actors in the groups have been from multiple nationalities, which adds a great deal to the experience.

This training is a very exciting development for me, and will, I believe take my acting to a new level of truthfulness.

UNLOAD

I am delighted to have been cast as the therapist in UNLOAD,  a short film about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), written and produced by Peter Carruthers, who also acts in the film. UNLOAD  is part of a 2 year outreach project to improve global understanding and quality of therapy for veterans, and judging by the quality of Pete’s previous films, will be a major contribution in this field.

You can see more details about the film, and contribute to the funding if you wish here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/unload-a-film-about-ptsd-psychological-therapy

For the fund raising period only, you can also see Pete’s previous films on the Indigogo page.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2014 will be a great year for you.

I have some exciting possibilities lined up, but I can’t be specific about any of them yet. They might include one, or even two solo shows, some interesting developments at Arts@trinity in Leeds, and several short films. I will post more news here when I have it.

Meanwhile, wishing you all love and peace.

Raging for Life

In September 2011, I completed filming on a feature film called Raging for Life. It was written and directed by a very talented young man called Shaun Rice. Tragically, not long after the filming was completed, Shaun contracted leukaemia, and died from an infection shortly after his 20th birthday.

His three friends, who were very much involved in the filming are working on completing the film, in honour of Shaun. It will be a long job, but they have now made a teaser trailer, which you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4y9mqeNAAk&feature=youtu.be&a

Do please ‘like’ the Facebook page for the film, to get news of the film’s progress.

Edward II and The Ghost Train

I am very pleased to announce that I will be appearing in Edward II, by Christopher Marlowe, at Arts@trinity in Leeds, from October 23rd-October 26th.

Details can be found here http://artstrinityleeds.co.uk/ai1ec_event/1083-2/?instance_id=16080

Paul Ratcliffe, who directed Three Sisters in the same venue, will be directing again for the Arts@trinity company.

In addition you can now see the trailer for The Ghost Train here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFC0_F13v4M

We very much hope that the film will be ready for release by Christmas.

Three Sisters, Doris and Forever Beautiful

Three Sisters was a wonderful, exciting journey, and the production was very well received. I very much hope to be involved in other productions at Arts@Trinity in due course.

Meanwhile, I have played the lead role in two short films. Doris directed by Natalie Smith (www.stormmakerpictures.com/)  and Forever Beautiful directed by Lee Anthony Reilly   (www.runningclockfilms.com ).  I am excited about the quality of these two short films, both of which will be entered for various festivals.

You can see Forever Beautiful here:  https://vimeo.com/75064359

I will post a link To Doris when it available online for you to see. Doris is now finished, but not yet available for public viewing. Please contact me if you want to see the film.

Thankyou to both of these two talented young directors and their teams for relaxed and very enjoyable shoots.
